Testing Your Setup

Test that your WhatsApp button is working and leads are being tracked correctly.

How to Test Your WhatsApp Button Tracking

Once you’ve setup the button or integrated the tracking script, use this guide to ensure everything’s functioning.

✅ Basic Test

  1. Visit your site with a ?gclid=test1234 at the end of the URL
  1. Click the WhatsApp button
  1. Send the pre-filled message (don’t modify it)
  1. Open WAConversionTracking
  1. In the clicks tab you should see a new entry with status converted.
  1. In the leads tab you should see a new entry with GCLID: test1234

🛠 If Something’s Wrong:

  • No GCLID? → You didn’t arrive from a Google Ad or forgot to simulate it
  • No UID? → You may have removed [UID] in the message or the script isn’t loading
  • No lead showing? → Check browser console for script errors, or confirm webhook is active
